PiXieS are looking for early year practitioners who hold a relevant level 3 qualification and are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Knowledge of the EYFS is desirable. Promote good practice. The Nursery has good travel links and promotes positive and creative learning. Applicants will be caring for the daily needs of children aged from 3 months to 5 years in a loving environment, observing children in their play to develop learning and growth. All we ask of you is commitment, a genuine love for children, to have a sense of humour and be a team player. |

| I am currently training for an NVQ level 3 in childcare while working at Pixies. I have found working in a childcare setting to be a great help to get me though my course work, having other staff working towards or having already achieved this qualification or equivalent is a great help as if I ever need to ask any question or need any help with coursework there is always someone to ask. Pixies have been helpful by sending me on many different training courses that are relevant and helpful to my qualification, Working with all different age groups within the nursery, Baby room, 2-3's and pre-school is a great advantage when it comes to completing written coursework. |
| I have been working at Pixies for over 3 years and look after the babies aged from 3 months to 1 year. I always wanted to work with children so Pixies gave me the opportunity to fulfill my dream when they offered me the job. Then when I started the staff and managers were really welcoming and helped to build my knowledge on working with children. In 2004 I started to go to college to do my N.V.Q level 3. When the course started the staff and managers were very supportive in things I needed to do with other age group allowing me to move from room to room and being there if I was stuck with a piece of written work. I am glad I had the opportunity to do this and would recommend this to anyone. |
I have been working at Pixies now for just over 3 years. When I joined the nursery I found all of the staff and management team very welcoming and friendly. They were all happy to answer any questions I asked and showed me where things were. I was never made to feel unwelcome or that I was putting anyone out by asking things. I have worked at two other nurseries prior to starting my time at Pixies but this is the only one that I have felt welcome by everyone and given plenty of opportunities to push my self further. After only being here for a few months, a position for room leader became available in the baby room that I was working in. I went for this job and was offered the position which I accepted. Since being room leader I have received support from the management team who are always there to lend a helping hand or some advice when needed. I hope to have many more happy years working for Pixies. |
