Ofsted regulate and inspect childcare provision in England to ensure that the quality of care and education meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Ofsted inspect childcare providers every three years to see in practice what it is like for a child attending the setting, and grade the provision as either outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate. The inspection report is made publically available on the Ofsted website. Providers must have regard to the findings and share them with parents
