Tuesday 5th January saw one of the fastest snowfalls that we at PiXieS can remember. Many parents were stranded and children were still being cared for into the late evening. Staff started their long journeys home and many of them were safely tucked up after midnight. Obviously it didn’t stop there as the following morning revealed chaos and mayhem in the south |

People that could get to work walked through the snow to open and business as usual continued. Well as normal as you can get in many inches of snow! The nursery was eerily quiet as the children slowly made it in, preferring to come and play with their friends instead of staying at home.
|
The small group of children had a ball as they ventured out into the garden not knowing whether to build a snowman or stomp to make footprints! They were all wrapped up in winter gear and protested as it was time to head back in for a yummy dinner of sausage casserole.

The following day many of our practitioners made the journey back to work and by Friday we practically had a full team again.
We would like to thank all of our practitioners who made it into work and those that struggled to get home and remained snowed in as abandoned cars couldn’t be moved. We look forward to the warmer weather coming and getting back to normality!!
